Phoenix, AZ- The FBI alleges that Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne left the scene of a accident last week in order to cover up an affair he was having with one of his employees.

The accident took place in the parking lot of the apartment complex where his alleged lover, Assistant Attorney General Carmen Chenal lived.

The FBI was tailing Horne because he is being investigated for a campaign finance infraction. The FBI informed Phoenix police that they observed Horne crashing into a parked Range Rover while driving a borrowed car in Chenal’s apartment complex, where the couple met for their rendezvous, according to the East Valley Tribune.

The FBI report stated, “Though motive is not an element of the criminal statute listed above,” referring to the charge of hit-and-run, “it stands to reason that Horne did not want any record of the his presence in the parking garage of Chenal’s apartment complex thus he did not leave a note.”

Of course, Horne denies the FBI’s allegations stating that the parking garage in question also serves neighboring shops and restaurants. He also objected to being charged with hit-and-run, saying he would have left a note if he thought there was any damage.

But there was close to $1,000 in damage to the Range Rover and Horne said he could easily afford to pay the car owner for the damage.

Traffic accidents can cause a great deal of property damage and costly personal injuries. Victims of traffic collisions, no matter how serious, shouldn’t be burdened with these costs if they were caused a careless driver. An accident attorney is highly-qualified to seek and obtain compensation for the people impacted by a collision.
